chess as a Gateway to success

Brian Bakari

In the world of strategic thinking, one game stands out as a beacon of intellect – chess. Today, we delve into the mind of Patience Giriama, a student at Multimedia University, who found her passion for chess at a young age.

Giriama started playing chess in primary school, and it quickly became more than just a game for her. It taught her patience, critical thinking, and the art of planning ahead.

Giriama’s dedication led her to compete at the national level during her high school years, where she experienced firsthand the mental fortitude required to excel in this ancient game of kings and queens.

Chess has countless benefits beyond the board. It enhances concentration, decision-making skills, and fosters creativity. Plus, it’s a great way to meet people from diverse backgrounds who share a common love for the game.

According to recent studies, engaging in chess can improve academic performance, with students showing higher scores in mathematics and reading comprehension.

As we navigate life’s intricate maneuvers, perhaps we can take a cue from the timeless wisdom of chess and make our moves with purpose, strategy, and foresight.

Always stay two steps ahead. Reporting for MMU Radio my name is Brian Bakari.
